Volume (mL) = X * Y * Z (mm) * fill% / 1000. A solid 30x30x50mm model uses 45 mL. Add 15% for supports and waste. Standard resin costs about $0.04/mL.
| Resin Type | Cost/mL | Density | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $0.04 | 1.1 g/mL | General models |
| ABS-Like | $0.06 | 1.12 g/mL | Functional parts |
| Water Washable | $0.05 | 1.08 g/mL | Easy cleanup |
| Flexible | $0.08 | 1.05 g/mL | Gaskets, grips |
Halving layer height doubles print time. 50um layers take twice as long as 100um but produce much smoother surfaces. Each layer needs UV exposure (2-5 seconds) plus lift time.
Base layers need long exposure (30-50s) for bed adhesion. Normal layers need 2-5 seconds depending on resin type. ABS-like and flexible resins need longer exposure than standard.
Cost = volume (mL) * resin price per mL. A 1kg bottle of standard resin (~$25) gives about 909 mL. Factor in failed prints (15-20% waste) for real-world costs.
