A 60″ round table with 30″ floor-length drop needs a 120″ round cloth — the most common size for wedding and banquet rentals.
A standard 6-foot banquet table is 72×30 inches. For a standard 10–12 inch drop, you need a 60×102″ tablecloth. For floor-length (30″ drop), you need a 90×132″ tablecloth.
| Table | Standard Drop | Floor Length | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6ft (72×30″) | 60×102″ | 90×132″ | 6–8 |
| 8ft (96×30″) | 60×120″ | 90×156″ | 8–10 |
| 60″ round | 90″ round | 120″ round | 8 |
A 60-inch round table needs a 90″ round tablecloth for a standard drop or a 120″ round tablecloth for floor-length. The formula is: tablecloth diameter = table diameter + (2 × desired drop).
Drop length is how far the tablecloth hangs over the edge of the table. It's measured from the table edge straight down. A casual drop is 6–8 inches, standard dinner is 10–12 inches, formal is 15 inches, and floor-length is about 30 inches.
Renting is cheaper for a one-time event, typically $8–15 per tablecloth. Buying polyester tablecloths ($10–30 each) makes sense if you host 3 or more events per year, since they last through 100+ washes.
For a 6-foot rectangular table with standard drop, you need about 2.8 yards of 54″ wide fabric. For a 60″ round table with floor-length drop, you need about 3.3 yards. Add 2 inches on each side for hems.
