241 warp ends × 54″ each. 504 weft picks × 26.4″ each. Larger tapestries need proportionally more thread.
Multiply the number of warp ends (width × EPI + 1) by the total warp length (tapestry height plus loom waste for tying on and off). Loom waste is typically 12–24 inches depending on your loom type.
Weft yardage depends on the number of picks (height × PPI) and the width with take-up allowance. Tapestry weaving is weft-faced, so you need significantly more weft than warp.
Standard tapestry weaving uses 6–12 EPI depending on the warp material and desired density. Most beginners start with 8 EPI cotton warp, which produces a balanced medium-density tapestry.
Cotton seine twine or cotton carpet warp is the standard choice. It is strong, does not stretch, and provides a neutral base for colorful weft yarns. Linen warp is also excellent but costs more.
