2,400 total. 15% unusable = 360. Stage = 200. Usable = 2,400 - 360 - 200 = 1,840. Theater: 1,840 / 6 = 306 → 303 guests.
It depends on layout. After deducting 15% for aisles and service areas (usable: ~4,080 sq ft), a banquet setup fits 340 guests at 12 sq ft each. Theater seating fits 680 at 6 sq ft each. Cocktail standing fits 510. Classroom layout fits only 226 because tables and aisles need 18 sq ft per person.
| Layout | Sq Ft/Person | 4,800 Sq Ft Room |
|---|---|---|
| Banquet | 12 | 340 guests |
| Theater | 6 | 680 guests |
| Cocktail | 8 | 510 guests |
| Classroom | 18 | 226 guests |
A banquet layout needs 12–15 sq ft per person. This includes the chair space at a round table, clearance for servers to pass behind chairs, and aisle space. A 60-inch round table with 8 chairs takes about 100 sq ft including clearance. For tight spaces, 10 sq ft per person is the absolute minimum.
A standard dance floor for 100 guests is about 300 sq ft (roughly 15×20 ft). This removes 25 banquet seats or 50 theater seats from capacity. The rule of thumb is 3 sq ft per dancing guest, and about 40% of guests dance at the same time. For 100 guests, plan a 10×12 to 15×20 ft floor.
A small stage for a DJ or couple of speakers needs 100–150 sq ft (8×12 to 10×15 ft). A head table on a riser needs about 200 sq ft. A full band stage with monitors needs 300–400 sq ft (16×20 to 20×20 ft). Always add a 3-foot buffer around the stage for safety and cable runs.
