Goat fencing should be at least 4 feet for miniatures and 5 feet for standard breeds. Climbing breeds like Nigerian Dwarfs may need 5–6 foot fencing. Woven wire or cattle panels are preferred over chain link.
Goats need a three-sided shelter at minimum to escape rain, wind, and sun. Allow 15–25 sq ft per goat depending on breed size. The shelter floor should be raised or have drainage to stay dry.
You need at least 500 sq ft total for 2 miniature goats, or 1,000 sq ft for 2 standard goats. Many suburbs allow goats with permits. Always check local zoning before building a pen.
