What This Policy Covers

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies, browser storage (such as localStorage), and similar technologies that usecalcpro.com uses, what each one does, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle information more broadly.

Essential Storage (Always On)

We store your privacy choice itself in your browser's localStorage under the key ucp_cookie_consent. This record holds your consent preferences (whether you have allowed analytics and/or advertising) and the date you last updated them. It is strictly necessary: without it, we would not be able to remember your choice from one page to the next, so this storage item cannot be turned off. It is not shared with any third party and contains no personal information beyond your saved preference.

Analytics Storage

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we load the following only after you consent in the consent dialog; elsewhere, including the United States, they are on by default and you can turn them off in Privacy Choices:

• Google Analytics: Helps us understand which pages and calculators are used and how visitors navigate the site
• First-party calculator events: Limited usage events such as page views, calculator views, button clicks, ratings, and sanitized calculator input and result values. We strip emails, long free-text, and other oversized or sensitive values before these events are sent

Until consent is established for your region, the site signals Google's Consent Mode to keep analytics_storage set to "denied," so no analytics cookies or identifiers are set.

Cookieless, Always-On Aggregate Analytics

We also run Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool at analytics.usecalcpro.com, which loads automatically on every visit. Umami sets no cookies and stores no persistent identifier on your device, so it cannot be used to track you individually across visits or sites. Because it is cookieless by design, it is not gated by these choices; it only measures aggregate page-view counts to help us understand overall traffic.

Advertising Storage

Ads are served by Journey by Mediavine and its advertising partners, which may set cookies to serve, personalize and measure advertisements. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Mediavine's consent dialog (an IAB TCF v2.2 consent management platform) asks for your consent first, and without it only non-personalized ads are shown. Elsewhere, personalized advertising is on by default; you can opt out in Privacy Choices, and a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser is treated as an opt-out.

The Consent Dialog

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see a consent dialog from Mediavine on their first visit, and analytics and advertising follow the choices made there. Visitors elsewhere see no dialog. A choice saved in Privacy Choices is stored in ucp_cookie_consent and always takes precedence.

Changing Your Choices

You can change your analytics and advertising choices at any time by selecting "Privacy Choices" in the site footer. This reopens the same preferences dialog so you can update or withdraw consent for either category.
